10th Autism-Europe International Congress “New Dimensions for Autism”

The 10th Autism-Europe International Congress with the congress theme “New Dimensions for Autism” is taking place in Budapest, Hungary, on 26-28 September 2013. Autism-Europe aisbl is an international association whose main objective is to advance the rights of persons with autism and their families and to help them improve their quality of life. Autism-Europe’s international congresses are dedicated to sharing advances in practical and scientific knowledge about autism to as wide an audience as possible, including professionals, parents and self-advocates.
The 10th Autism-Europe International Congress focus on the most recent developments across the field of autism, including causes, genetics, diagnosis, early intervention, treatments, education, support, employment, rights and policies, among many more. The Congress will also include sessions on topics that have generated much interest recently, such as new developments in information and communications technologies (ICT), best practices in service provision and ensuring quality of life for people with autism as they become elderly.
The Congress will also cover the evolution of knowledge, rights and services for autism, as well as providing insight into future developments in knowledge and technologies for autism that may soon become a part of everyday life.
Autism-Europe’s congresses are traditionally held every three years. This one will be an historic occasion, marking both the 10th Autism-Europe International Congress, and the 30th anniversary of Autism-Europe.
Furthermore, this is the first time that an Eastern European country has gained the opportunity to organise a congress under the aegis of Autism-Europe. The strengths and creativity of Eastern European organisations in the treatment and support of people with autism will be showcased.
